What’s new for 2017

What’s new for 2017

Campus has been comparatively quiet since we waved farewell to the graduating classes of 2016 and wished everyone else a great summer break; however, behind the scenes, Curtin has been a hive of activity.

Those new to Curtin are blissfully unaware of everything else that came before them (including the worst of last year’s road and car park closures during construction), but if you’re returning to us you’ll probably notice a world of change – especially in Careers, Employment & Leadership.

Here are three major changes for the new semester to be aware of:

A new dawn for a new team.

The previous paragraph gives this away – but we have a new name! In January we officially joined forces with our good friends, Curtin Leadership Centre, to become Curtin Careers, Employment & Leadership. All of our programs remain unchanged – be it Curtin Leaders Program, Earn While You Learn, John Curtin Leadership Academy, or Curtin Employability Award – but we’re all now based in one convenient location. Over the next few weeks we’ll be updating our websites and posters to reflect the new brand – do bear with us as there are lots to revise!

Farewell CareerHub, long live Curtin UniHub!

You noticed this one already, right? But yes, it’s official – your number one website for jobs, skill development workshops and employer events is now known as Curtin UniHub. If you’re looking for part time or graduate work, access to your Leaders Program workflow, or the details on how to book into the next Resume workshop, UniHub is the place to do it. There are also exciting changes in the pipeline to make searching for the content you want to see even easier. Watch this space.

Coming soon – Curtin Connect

This week we will be one of the services appearing at the Pop Up Village by the Curtin Hexagon. Why? Because later this year we will be joining the other areas appearing there in the new Curtin Connect building, our new student services and support ‘one-stop-shop’ at the University Central Precinct in 2017. More details will follow in Semester 1 as we move away from our long time home in the Vin Davies Building 303.

There’s lots more happening too including prize giveaways and exclusive job opportunities for Curtin students – be sure to keep tabs on UniHub and Careers for Tomorrow, and follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram so you don’t miss out!
