Subsea Engineering Associates (SEA) are an independent consultancy that specialises in detailed engineering and project delivery, working with clients and projects all over the world from their office in the Perth city. We employ around 45 highly skilled engineers that range from graduates through to those with decades of experience – including some who have taught elements of engineering at local universities. The majority of our engineering team have civil, mechanical or chemical engineering degrees, with a handful of exceptions, and we work closely together in multidisciplinary teams to tackle complex problems for our clients.

Graduate program

Our graduate development program is designed to help highly capable engineers reach their potential as confident, skilled professionals. There are three main areas that we focus on throughout the graduate program:

  • Applied engineering: using the fundamental engineering knowledge in the real world; how it applies to actual problems, how the framework of client requirements, best practice and industry codes and standards guides the development of solutions, and how to approach problem solving in a systematic and innovative way.
  • Automation: our approach to engineering problem solving is to apply automation techniques to explore and understand each technical challenge, using the in-house developed automation toolkit based on Python and common industry-leading engineering packages. No prior knowledge or experience is required, and all training will be provided in-house while working on projects alongside peers who have gone through the process themselves.
  • Professional practice: development of the professional skillset expected of engineers and leaders, including project management skills, use of common organisational tools in a technical engineering environment, report writing and presentation skills, client interaction and more.

SEA are leading the world at applying automated engineering techniques to real world problems, providing new insight to the conventional operational issues and tackling complex, multi-disciplinary technical problems that can’t be properly solved any other way. Our extraordinary team of engineers are all highly skilled, passionate about engineering and have a thirst to learn – and share – new skills. A place in SEA’s graduate program will land you in an exciting, fast-paced and rich environment to accelerate your professional development.
