In order to remain viable, contractors must evolve and add value to an operation through more attractive rates and increased efficiencies.
Graduate and vocation programs
Byrnecut recognises the need to train and provide appropriate experience for graduate professional engineers. Our Graduate Engineer Program (GEP) has been designed to introduce newly qualified personnel to the company and provide training and practical experience in the underground environment on various mine sites within Australia. All graduates complete up to two years of training and practical experience.
GEP participants start by cycling through underground positions, then gain exposure to drafting, design, modelling and analysis, project management and reporting, as well as forecasting, scheduling and client relations.
When recruiting for these positions, we look for talented and motivated graduate mining engineers who are keen to immerse themselves in the program.
We also offer mine engineering students exposure to and practical work experience in the mining industry. This invaluable program gives students a chance to develop successful working relationships and a strong support network with a view to enrolling in our Graduate Engineer Program.
