Recruiters go virtual

Recruiters go virtual

We’ve just checked responses from our recent employer survey. With almost a 100 responses – and still counting – we have some great info that we can share. So far, all of the organisations who usually offer graduate programs, will still be offering graduate programs! There’s no intention to stop graduate recruitment for 2021 at this stage.

But, given that students and employers can’t actually physically meet in person at the moment, changes are being made to the recruitment process. In ordinary speak, this means that more video interviews, or appearing via video communication, will be on the cards. It might also mean more online assessments and you might have to write more about yourself.

What can you do to prepare?

  1. Download video communication software (e.g. Zoom, WebEx, Skype) and get comfortable using it
  2. Practice being comfortable looking at yourself!
  3. Do a mock interview via video streaming and get feedback.
    (We can help!)
  4. Practice psychometrics
  5. Think about the conversations you’ll have i.e. who are you, why are you studying what you’re studying and, what do you want to do with it?

Check out our revamped video streaming software. You can practice responding to a few personal and behavioural (giving examples) questions and get valuable feedback. This can only be a good thing, right?!
