Talk about good timing! The Australian Association of Graduate Employers (AAGE) has just released their Top 75 Graduate Employers!
So, what’s it all about? Well, it’s real insights from actual grads. AAGE conducts an annual survey to find out exactly what recently employed grads think about their graduate program experience.
This is really handy if you’re about to apply for graduate programs. It’s also useful if you’re still wondering which organisations offer these opportunities.
Something else to start thinking about at this time of year is what you can expect to be earning. This information comes from the Graduate Outcome Survey (GOS), completed by grads approximately four months after completion of their studies.
In 2019, the salary scales ranged from around $48k to $88K, with dentists being the highest paid. Graduates working as allied health professionals, physios, OTs and social workers for example, were earning around $68k, with teachers earning about the same.
When you finish your degree, you’ll also be asked to complete the GOS, providing info such as who’s employing you, how many hours you’re working, and what you’re earning. It’s really worthwhile completing this survey – it’s designed to provide info all students want to know!
So, where do you think you’ll be when you graduate? Don’t not be in the know! It’s only smart to be aware of just what is out there for you – way before you finish your studies.
Get started on your career planning and goal setting as soon as you can.
