It’s week three, and we are celebrating with a healthy dose of self-awareness. We have not one, but two workshops on the topic this week, with ‘Who Am I’ for our career skills workshop series and ‘Self-Awareness’ for Curtin Leaders Program. Housing Authority – Job Opportunities | Monday 14 August | 211.230, Bentley Campus

The Housing Authority will be on campus to chat with students about their graduate program. They hire graduates from a variety of disciplines, including commerce, psychology, arts, sociology, sustainability, business, anthropology, law, project management, urban and regional planning, and architecture. Come along to current graduates about their experiences in the program and get some tips on submitting a winning application.

Self-awareness is a powerful tool that can help you reach your career goals. But what is self-awareness? This module will help you understand what motivates you, maximise your strengths and shape a career that reflects your value.

This one is for Engineering, Maths, Physics and English students! Find out more about Teach For Australia’s disruptive program and how it could fast-track your career. This information session will outline the urgent issue of educational disadvantage in Australia, and detail how you can apply to become part of the solution.

Self-Awareness | Wednesday 16 August | 403.101, Bentley Campus

Self-awareness is important in all aspects of our lives. It helps us to know and understand our strengths and weaknesses and our emotional responses to a range of different situations. This workshop will explore a range of strategies for increasing self-awareness including values clarification, reflective practices, negative and positive self-talk, and giving and receiving feedback on our own and others’ strengths and weaknesses.

CBS students, make sure you drop by room 407.204 from 1:00pm to have your LinkedIn profile reviewed by one of Career Development Consultants. We offer this service every second Wednesday so if you can’t make it this week, pencil it in for two weeks time.

Get along to one of our Interview workshops to get the low down on everything you need to ace that job interview and land your dream job. If you can’t get to a workshop, you can complete the interview module online on Curtin Challenge.

NIT Australia: ICT Career Advice & Migration Tips for International Students | Friday 18 August | 204.233, Bentley Campus

NIT Australia will be on campus to talk to international ICT students about kickstarting your ICT career in Australia, migration pathways and tips, and the ACS Professional Year Program for International ICT graduates.
