Getting Ready for the Careers Fair

You don’t need to do anything in order to attend the Curtin Careers Fair next Thursday… But you’ll get a lot more out of the event if you do a little bit of prep:

1. Do a little bit (or a lot) of research

Start by checking out who’s attending. Make a list of organisations who are relevant to you so you can plan to visit them. Want to take it further? Check out their profile, visit their website and perhaps prepare some questions you’d like to ask. Review our previous networking post to get some tips on how to get the most out of this opportunity and start building some great contacts!

2. Get your resume ready

If you’d like to get professional resume advice, make sure you print a copy of your resume and bring it on the day. You can bring it how it is, but if you put a bit of time into it, you’ll get more out of your professional review. Check out some of our previous resume tips and if you have time, complete the online resume module. If you can get it to a good standard before your review, it can just keep getting better.

3. Note workshop times

We have the Department of Defence (10am), CPA Australia (11.05am), Teach for Australia (11.30am), OSIsoft Asia (11.55am), Scope (12.20pm), Professionals Australia (12.45pm), Woodside (1.10pm) and EY (1.35pm) conducting workshops at the event. If you’re interested in hearing from these employers, please note the times and visit the workshop area at Curtin Stadium – no need to book.
