Professional Associations for Nurses and Midwives

Professional Associations and regulatory bodies can connect you to up-to-the-minute industry information, other professionals, job opportunities, seminars, workshops, conferences and career advice. They’re a fantastic avenue for building networks and staying immersed in your industry throughout your career. The following associations are relevant to students and professionals working within Nursing & Midwifery:

Australian College of Midwives
Australian Nursing Federation
Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council
Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association
Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
Royal College of Nursing

There are also professional associations linked to every nursing specialisation from Community Health to Orthopaedic to Neuroscience. The WA Department of Health provides a comprehensive list of all associations.

Check out the associations that hold the most interest, it costs nothing to look at their resources! You can also access many associations as a student member at reduced fees and get a head start on finding your future specialisations and career options.
